Monprivato di Castiglione Falletto Barolo Nebbiolo

Elegant texture and weight. There's still loads of primary fruit w wild strawberry, raspberry. I can't get over how it just glides over the palate.

Bitume proéminent, tanins saillants. Il a besoin de temps, mais il en a dedans.

Dark wood and cherry. Intense with a hint of violets and lovely dark, slightly gamey fruit. Fresh with noticeable fine tannins. Young but vibrant and tasty.

Apr 8th, 2018With time this beautiful earthy Monprivato became expansive, it gained weight and the tannins got firmer - yet refined. Tobacco, really earthy, seaweed, ferrous and ripe cherries.

In a slightly awkward phase. Showed moments of greatness, but not there yet. Definitely won't open my next bottle for a few years. (94 points - future)

A little underwhelmed by this £60 Barolo paid that's now £105 as seems to have lost its fruit & gone feminine with age but still a decent wine although wouldn't pay today's ask 🤑 overrated 🤔
🍷 Light garnet w/ brown edge
👃 Lightly smoked cherry & roses w/ earth & tar hints but quite closed after 4hrs 💨
👄 Light-+ shy body of med acidity smooth earthy cherry w/ very fine dry tannin
🎯 Med earthy fine cherry finish
🥘 Paired w/ Porcini Mushroom Pollo Parmigiana on mixed egg & spinach Fettuccine
