Feb 14th, 2016This needs serious decanting time; it was closed for a long while despite the bottle being opened hours before serving. Quite atypical Sangiovese (unless it was still closed?); a deep, almost muddy black cherry (not a very attractive colour); vanilla, toffee, and hot cherry purée; tannic but short - acidity was present but not intrusive and would allow it to develop nicely over the next 15 years. Would be interested to see how it tastes tomorrow... Would my rating improve?
