Disgorged Jan 16, 2013. I often hear people say this cuvΓ©e is "oxidative", but I don't understand that at all. This bottle is so fresh and vibrant, with a wonderful complexity and finesse.

Rich, yet never too heavy. Waves after waves of flavour and evolution in the mouth, quirky oxidative style that somehow just worked because of the richness in both texture and flavour. Most fascinating wine I've had ever - certainly no ordinary champagne!

Deg. 151012; Liquid gold in colour, broad and seductive nose of smoke, truffles, peat, guave, orange rind, hint of oxidation. Very soft and focussed in the mouth, Tiny pearls, hardly noticeable on the palet. A very delectable bubble. 96/100
