The Armagh Clare Valley Shiraz
Clare Valley, Mount Lofty Ranges, South Australia, AustraliaThis was really something upon initial decant—so supple, so long. Fell apart a little with extended air but this was first in the lineup of mature Aussies and made quite an impression

Not a bad wine but these days, not my personal style preference, however; for those who favor bold big flavors, perfect.

1996 vintage. Decent fill. Open with a Durand and, even so, the cork was an absolute mess. Had to dig out the funnel and screen. Light-medium body. Excellent dark color. Started a bit flat but picked up a little steam after 15 minutes. This example was a little long in the tooth. 2.12.26.
