Too much sweet oak but otherwise not too oppressive.

Nose is plum and dark cherry with some barnyard funk in the background. Big tart fruit to start with heavy mouthfeel indicative of the high alcohol level. Finish is bitter red fruit fading to acid. Hints of a port wine throughout, this is too syrupy. I find many Zins poorly balanced and hard to drink without a good food match, and this one is no exception.
