Popped and poured; enjoyed over the course of two days. Consistent throughout. The 2018 pours a deep garnet with a near opaque core; medium+ viscosity with moderate staining of the tears. On the nose, the wine is developing with notes of ripe black and red fruits: black currants, blackberries, raspberries, red rope licorice, leather ball glove, a touch of tobacco, a bit of bell pepper, rich organic earth, and warm spices. On the palate, the wine is dry with medium tannin and medium+ acid. Confirming the notes from the nose. The finish is medium+ with savory minerals. Quite a lovely, straight forward second-wine from Malartic-Lagravière. Drink now through 2033.

Vintage 2018 | Purple red colour, refined open smell with red fruit, some laurel, velvety taste | paired with tenderloin with mango fruit, Cantonese style. @Timothy Lynch it is. Now third day, so much aeration: splendid wine!
