Shockingly good. Classically perfumed/floral — palate dense, somehow oily, and a bit mineral-spicy. Notes of orange rind /orange oil elsewhere are fair. Dazzling length. This is great Condrieu.

Jun 2nd, 2021Dried lemons, orange zest, peach, and tons of ginger and Asian spice. Viscous, with ginger and spice notes carrying. Orange oil mouth feel. Lifted by seater pear to finish. Yum!

Nov 28th, 2020What is most interesting to me is that over the course of this bottle the wine went from a definitely beyond your floral bouquet to something more along the lines of a California Chardonnay. The wine itself is viscous, almost oily in how it goes over your tongue. Traditional flavors and aromas of white flowers and melon with just enough acid to make it not overly sweet. However after about an hour and towards the end of the bottle it became much more buttery like an oaked Chardonnay. Interesting development, fun to try, but I’d be more interested to see other examples of wine from this area.
