Linne Calodo
Outsider Zinfandel Blend

78% zin + syrah and mourvedre. The 15.8% is sneaky because there’s no heat on this and instead of the plush velvety blends that are more typical of Paso the zin adds brightness and keeps everything lifted. Overall it is reminiscent of a field blend from the North Coast. A hint of vanilla on the finish and the tannins are still a little bit prickly. This should be well rounded in just a couple more years.

Deep toast creosote and asphalt great mouthfeel, albanesque Syrah really shines through

@Linne Calodo, just a wonderful wine. Black cherry and some black pepper dominate the palate. Tannins still present but subdued. Just a great supper

At home enjoying this wine. ZN: 78%, Syrah: 15%, Mourvèdre: 7%, nice blend. Not a sweet ZN.

@Linne Calodo They just make great wine. Time and time again. Their eclectic Rhône blends are good , no great. This had violets on the nose , with deep black cherry and a little white pepper to finish. Great mouthfeel with medium plus acidity. Long lingering finish. Yummy

Took about an hour plus to unfold. Dark berries, spice box and some smokiness on the finish.

Feb 7th, 2019Linne Calado is a personal favorite. Very interesting blend here swapping zin for Grenache in the typical gsm/Rhône blend. Had been cellared for two years and could have easily went longer. Thankfully I have two more ha:)

A welcoming home to California. The outsider holding up to the smoke country back ribs and blaring country in the Bose, a rowdy night with Doug — @Connor McMahon and @BRIAN BELL know what I mean. But for the wine... a bit of alcohol on the nose but drinks smooth with hits of warm dark fruits. Just exceptionably drinkable. Well done
