So cool to contrast this Marcassin to the Bouchard GC. Opposites but both brilliant. This one, feminine with white and pink flowers, cotton candy on the nose. Our Burg-hound noted with disdain that the Marcassin “took everything beautiful in the Bouchard and turned it up to 11”. We all said, “yeah, baby!” Extraordinary.

No surprise to see this bottle in the 100 point collector's dinner. This was a great bottle with notes of tropical fruit, apricot, oyster shell and honeysuckle.

Today was an absolutely fantastic Friday hosting at the City Club by @Dan Fitzgerald. 1 sparkler, 3 whites, 4 reds, 1 dessert wine. Great job Dan!

I’ll let others comment on this as I thought it was flawed. Loads of butterscotch, alongside mildew, pineapple juice and old Meyer lemon. Good, but not up to normal standards! I guessed this was 2010 Sonoma chardonnay because it drank older than I thought it was.

Way too much oak. I was so disappointed with this. While the oak isn’t on the buttery side it was just too over the top and with its age you would have thought it would have calmed down or integrate more.

A milestone birthday requires some fun wines! 1st bottle to polish off is a 2008 Marcassin chard with Hog Island oysters, butter poached lobster, and shrimp.

Double decant for fine cloudy sediment. An irresistible medium gold color.. On the nose: nectarines, pineapple, vanilla toast, lemon, and crushed rocks. Taste: so gooood after 12 years. A slightly creamy wine with carmalized pear, wet stones, lemon peel, and a mineral peach long finish with good acidity.
