Revisiting this one with a sober palate and this time it is absolutely electrifying. Beautiful wine. Stingingly penetrating. Dried fruits. Great expression of Sangiovese. Like an augmented Brunello. A brunello with breast implants.

Выпито с Алексеем Болдыревым 18.05.21 в ресторане Имена. Это элитное Вино 2008 года от дома Antinori ( 75% Cabernet Sauvignon, 20% Sangiovese, Cabernet Franc) сделало наш вечер. Еда была на нужна. Мягкое, бархатное, после получаса декантирования прекрасно зашло под спокойную политическую беседу о текущем моменте. Solaia - это шедевр, ну что тут говорить !

A consistent classic! What a way to conclude the Christmas Holiday! Blend of Cabernet Sauvignon (75%), Sangiovese (20%) and Cabernet Franc (5%). Super ripe dark fruit (cherries, plums and currants) aromas and flavors. Hints of graphite and minerals. Subtle oak notes stay in the background. Gentle tannins. Long and silky finish. Beautiful finesse and balance. An opulent wine. Thanks so much for sharing this one Kasey and Petey!

2007 Solaia. Quarantine. Decanted 1 hour before serving. Drank with steak. Decanting drastically improved the wine. It was delicious after an hour and got better. Cocoa and coffee notes upfront, mushroom, rosemary, and other herbs following. Great tannin structure and body on the finish (which improved substantially after decanting).
