Koosah Vineyard Chardonnay
Seductive nose. Like a buttery, pillowy yellow tropical mystery fruit. A little bit like guava. Medium-light body, transparent, and the oak is still prominent though nicely done. This is very young, won’t touch my next bottle for another 3 yrs

Mar 5th, 2023Nose is so clean and pure. Smells like a scene in nature. Tree bark, wet soil, minerals galore. Another Burgundy ringer. Puligny for sure. Haunting complexity. Aromas just float on top of the glass. Wow. Rainwater. A pond. Moss. This nose is everything. Mint, fresh herbs. Nope I get barely any fruit which is awesome. This is a true vin de terroir. Wow. Opulent yet incisive and super pure. This is iodine city. This is so so Puligny. The iodine is the dead giveaway. What a stunning wine. As it aerates the complexity gets exponentially better. Nose is iodine city. This is so elite. Awesome concentration and purity. So complex and so compact. The minerality on this wine is insane. Holy shit. So clean on the finish. Just effortless and elite Chardonnay. What a finish!

Meyer lemon, touch bitter, quite acidic more top shelf chablis than white burgh.

Sep 21st, 2024Like a white Burgh. Hazelnut, meyer lemon. Plenty of acid. My favorite Oregon winery.

Apr 21st, 2024Hazelnut, Lemon, touch soft. There is no need to buy white Burghs we have the equivalent in Oregon. Much more carbon friendly!

Sep 3rd, 2023Nose: elegantly rich with some sparkly minerals. A hint of green apple skin. Some lemon oil. Perfumed.
Palate: silky. Rich. Balanced. Some spice. Lovely minerality but in a grand cru chablis way like say bougros. Very good acidity.
Lovely finish.
Let’s see where this goes. As this opens amazing sprightly acidity. Some gods lemon juice. Like half sweet lemon and regular lemon. Some lemon pith. Some gorgeous salinity.
This is borderline 1er cru / grand cru chablis from a very good producer.

Really good Chardonnay that doesn't go straight down the trodden Chardonnay path. In fact, my take is Koosah has more in common with something like Gruner. Subtle, delicate, distinct, but spicy. Just a little kick. Silver green with a yellow glow. Chartreuse. White pepper, cut grass, pear, violet. Creamy, lean texture, and zippy acid.
