This wine was a bit disappointing- the first wine I have ever tasted from Mr. Parrish that did not engender immediate taste nirvana. Perhaps it is too young, but the extreme amounts of young caramel oak overpower the wonderful flavors of this Napa Cabernet, even after extensive decanting.

A young Cabernet which really opens up after an hour in the decanter, this is a slightly sweeter take on the varietal. It still has the best features of Napa Cab: thick chewy tannins, bright cherry and rich mocha flavors, and a pleasant lingering finish that tingles on the tongue. The extra residual sugars would make it an ideal accompaniment to Asian-style meat dishes, but if you don't mind a splash of sweetness, it makes a great cocktail wine and probably a good gateway wine to the big reds for less experienced wine tasters.

Big fan of his wines but this vintage doesn’t seem to stand up as well. Maybe it needs more time on the rack and I have a few bottles left to sample.

A bit bland which surprised me. Not sure if I caught this before or after peak time for this wine. Normally this is a strong fruit forward Cab and a medium finish. This just had more of a neutral profile.

Nice deep flavors. Herbal with a distinct hint of bacon to go with the dark fruits and licorice. A likable drinkable Napa Cab.

A gift from naked wines. Needed to breathe a little but once it opened up my my it was yummy. Big smooth taste, not overly tannic. We loved it

Had not had the opportunity to enjoy any of Matt Parish wines before, seemed like a perfect night when Delmonico steaks were being grilled. Definitely needs time to open up, plan ahead. Slightly sweet at first but a nice long finish. Lighter bodied Cabernet. I would enjoy this wine again.
