Dark ruby in color with a brick rim.
Nice fruity nose with black currants, cherries, vanilla, wood, black olives, tobacco leaf, light alcohol, earth, herbs, spices and black pepper.
Medium plus in body, smooth and elegant, with medium acidity and long legs.
Dry and fruity on the palate with blackberries, black currants, plums, cooked cherries, oak, vanilla, licorice, eucalyptus, leather, balsamic vinaigrette, tobacco leaf, Mediterranean spices, herbs, earth, dark chocolates, graphite and peppercorn.
Long finish with fine grained tannins and spices.
This 6 year old Lodi Zinfandel is peaking now. It was worth waiting on it as it's way better than a fresh one. Showing a very complex nose and great balance. A wonderful sipping wine with great complexity.
Good right out of the bottle, but so much better after 2 hours in a decanter.
This 2011 vintage was not a good one, but it is drinking wonderfully now. Enjoyable by itself or with food. I paired it with light appetizers.
15% alcohol by volume.
$14.
