7 Deadly Zins Old Vine Lodi Zinfandel
Okay so the legs on this one, were impressive. Not something I usually comment on but something to give credit to. Color had a deep red to it. Had a deep red fruit nose to it. Which is surprising for a zinfandel. On first sip, quite light, with some spice. Could taste some oak in it from the barrel. Very interesting zinfandel, quite complex and unique. For a zinfandel, it's great, not sure if it's quite for my pallette but I'll give it credit where it's due.

Aug 20th, 2020Berry and spice plus woody smell. Also, distinct chocolate flavor. Nice to drink.

Jun 7th, 2020Deep Purple. Medium Intensity, classy aromas.
Red and black fruits, violet coming right after 30 minutes of decanter.
Later, a bit more, the oak, the vanilla, some spices, and a more distinct fruits as in red cherry jam and cooked strawberries or red plums.
Finally, a note of tobacco leaves.
Fruity, on the sweet side of the shelf, gently astringent but also velvety subtle. Oak gets richer by the minute. Full body, subtle tannins and quite long finish. I enjoyed better the freshness of its fruits than the dryness.
I would give it a high score because is in fact a good balanced wine but I had the impression that its potential has been held by the winemaker. It never let go. It's sheltered in a glass bubble protected by its creator. Primitivo from Puglia has instead that wild character that I love in some Italian wines.

Very well balanced and crisp. Dark in color, slightly dry and tannic. Maybe a strawberry taste...delicious!

Apr 26th, 2020Solid, full-bodied, old vine zin. Great price! Not as good as Cline, but I still drank this way too quickly.

Apr 26th, 2020Very surprised that it is still good after all these years. Taste solid table wine. And a steal for $9.95. Should get a few more bottles.
