Le Orme Barbera d'Asti

Ripe red fruit, black fruit, light wood, black tea / juicy on palate with med+ acidity wired throughout

Inky opaque closed nose needed long time in decanter to open up (it was better next day) finally showed distinct blue & black fruit, herbs, pepper/spice, Earth, with fine grained tannins in mid-palate, very soft & round, but finish was disjointed with an acidic astringency - atypical Barbera - maybe this got hot in transit?

One of my faves for a light red wine. Bright and zippy, endlessly gulpable

Drank in August 2021. At 6 years old, excellent depth, deep ruby color and a finish that lingers well. Pared well with pasta and red meat. Nice nose and overall a very good Barbera.

Dry, excellent with blue cheese. Jammy, bright red fruit - but not over powering. Excellent!

Refreshing high acidity. Hints of earth and cinnamon.

Light but luscious, aromatic, dark cherries, leather, cedar, some heat, a light amount of bite, pepper

A decent table wine

This region is so dependable. Great wine.
