Le Orme Superiore Barbera d'Asti

Piedmont blind tasting. Young, Purple, no tannins, muted nose, some cherry?, simple but sound. Called it as 2011 Barbera d'Asti. You go girl. ;)

Barbera DOCG 2011, 13.5%. Too young, and light, in my opinion, but it has good potentials. 78/100

Had this at Paesanos in San Antonio, great night. Decided to keep on the barbera train, great decision. Moderately priced again, nice smooth wine with good flavor, nothing too intense. Interesting fact, this maker has a moscato that's really good as well

Small glass, hard to really evaluate.. Also a bit on the warm side... But still a decent wine.. Lots of chocolate and cherry

Tight nose at first, opens up after some breathing. Cherries, dusty raspberries, and a wisp of smoke. Just enough tannins to anchor the juicy acidity. Paired perfectly with a thin, spicy red sauce pasta.
