Nose of saddle leather and earth. Palate displays little signs of age. Dry bright acidity, combined with mature cherries barrel toast. Many years ahead of this. No rush at all.

A brilliant Sangiovese blend. Loving this example/vintage. Black cherries, spice box and coffee stand tall. Showing perfectly now, but could put on weight over time. Excellent.

Powerful and giving, but also driven by its profound minerality. There's some cool funk on the nose, coming from the Montepulciano variety, but after a hour in the decanter, this is just pure class at barely no cost. Another 2 cases ordered for the cellar.

Has a zany quality i cant name, wood, dry tannins, has a great mouthfeel, mineral driven. I told the somm to break out the kazoo after tasting & that was a compliment

Second bottle, and based on this, I'm revising my initial score downwards. Still a strong effort, but my experience was very different.

The nose has notes of brambles and smoke. The palette is similar. Very dark fruits are evident, along with tar, ash and lead.

Still very good, but not as good as the first bottle.

I really like it when I get recos from fellow oenophiles which turn out to be spot on - @Jörgen Lindström Carlvik, take a bow.

In the glass, the wine appears to be very extracted, which I find is a pleasant first indicator. The wine coats the glass, demanding your attention.

The nose is pristine, yet urgent. Cigar notes, cherries and dark fruits are perfectly integrated.

On the palette, I'm in raptures. This is a seamless example which is tight, compact and dense. It has a viscous mouthfeel, finishing with polished tannins and a touch of sweetness.

This is a brilliant effort, which is begging for bottle age. Thanks to Jorgen, I've finally found a Sangiovese which does not require me to sell my house to buy a bottle (you get my point).

Paired with my own Sheppards pie (made from scratch). Don't hate the player, hate the game!

Scorched earth and roasted game add immediate complexity to its pure black cherries, bright cassis and blackberry aromas where a whiff of oriental spice and crushed black peppers create something unique. Youthfully tight and slow to unfold, but there's lots going on here, with tannins being dominant at present. Good fruit and lively acidity, this is the most refined Eneo produced to date, and I bet it will be on if the best ageing ones too. Might well be the greatest bargainTuscany has seen in a very long time. 94+ p.

Great depth with ripe fruit. Perfect during the snow storm with spaghetti and meatballs
