Mount Veeder Winery
Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon
Overflowing with plum and cassis with still structured backbone. How does one ever drink this on release? Still a baby

Aug 29th, 2015Unfortunately I waited too long. 22 years and now it’s past its prime. When I originally purchased a half a case about 18 years ago I really enjoyed this vintage and have over the years. I thought I would save one bottle for the future… Now it’s too late.

Dec 26th, 2019Surprisingly good structure for such an affordable wine with 22 years in cellar. Both tannin and acidity and well integrated. The fruits and black currants flavors are still abundant, with dark chocolate and coffee notes. Nose not as complex. Enjoyable medium finish. Buy again.
Upon tasting more old wines, I decrease the score. Still good, but no secondary notes like a CnP. It’s mostly sweet fruits and tannin. Delicious and very approachable, but not really a super good value. For slightly more can probably get a good CdP.
