Oak Ridge Winery
Ancient Vine Lodi Zinfandel
Gorgeous velvety texture. Great legs, awesome color and deep red. Mild tannins, raspberry, plum, light jammy without sweet...small mint and tobacco aftertaste. Mild dryness...perfect!

Spanish cedar and tobacco nose, medium acidity and body, and racy dark cherries, vanilla, raspberry, light brown baking spices, and a very smooth finish. I'm not usually a zinfandel fan, but it is an art piece of sweet fruits, tannin integration, and ample, yet conservative acidity making it both a great dinner wine, or one to enjoy by itself on a Monday evening.
I did pair this with a recipe of mine:
Wild hog chops, seasoned in rosemary, garlic, lemon, pepper, salt, drizzled with a sauce of zinfandel red wine reduction, mushrooms, red onion, garlic, and baked yukon gold potatoes as a side.
Perfect pairing for a slightly gamey meat.

Dark ruby in color with a purple hue and a light purple rim.
Oak on the nose with blackberries, figs, cooked prunes, wood, licorice, cloves, blueberries, black currants, cherries and white pepper.
Fruity on the palate with blueberries, blackberries, figs, prunes, cherries, strawberries, cloves, oak, vanilla, chocolate, licorice and light black pepper.
Full bodied with long legs.
Long finish with flabby tannins.
Nice Lodi zin, however, not sophisticated, but very enjoyable. Great with grilled meats.
13.95% alcohol by volume.
