A few days back I had the pleasure of having the 1998 Oddero Mondoca di Bussia Soprana Barolo.
On the nose there was black cherry, black raspberry, black currant, tar, oak, dried roses and a dried earth component.
On the palate was black cherry, fig, licorice, spice, subtle oak, leather, a bit of herbaceous notes and dried earth.
The wine is medium to full bodied and a velvety mouthfeel with medium + acidity still and medium + smooth tannins that lead to a long dark fruit finish. This was truly a pleasure to have. Christmas is soon upon us, so have a joyous and safe holiday. Nostrovia! 🍷🍷🍷🍷

1 person found it helpfulDec 21st, 2019Late night sips... 1998 Oddero Mondoca di Bussia Soprano Barolo. #unwined Nose immediately engages w soft, seductive rosey notes & bits of anise. Palate shows a little lovey raspbry, cherry & dried herbs. A wee past its prime as the 14.5% alc shows a bit hot here. But still fairly enjoyable.
