Optio Vineyards La Mar Vineyard Petite Sirah 2020, Paso Robles, California

Deep purple in color with a short purplish rim.

Full bodied with medium acidity.

Dry on the palate with nice complexity and mouthfeel.

Showing black currants, cooked cherries, plums, dried figs, tobacco, oak, spices, light vanilla, peppercorn and bitter herbs.

Nice length on the finish with round tannins and tangy raspberries.

This is a tasty Petite Sirah from Paso Robles. Showing nice complexity, rich and concentrated.

This Single Vineyard is a nice sipping wine, big and bold. Good right out of the bottle and good by itself. Fruit forward, extracted and jammy.

Still young and would be better in a few years. Would be nice to revisit it in 5 years, and see if it calms down a bit.

In your face kind of wine, so not for the faint of hearts, with a teeth staining color.

Petite Sirah grapes were aged in (50% new) oak barrels for 17 months. A tiny production of only 660 bottles.

14.5% alcohol by volume.

91 points.

$55.
