Third of our seven year vertical tonight....Scratch that the 2014 came out too.

Dark mix of garnet and ruby red. Lovely nose with pencil shaving, purple flowers, spices, cassis and more currants. Medium plus tannins (7/10) and medium plus to full bodied. Love the gravel on the palate, almost mountain like with tight dark berries and dark spices. Long finish. Drink till 2024.

Deep garnet red with ruby edges. Lots of spices on the nose with a bit of anise, dark berries, cassis and a tad smoky. Medium plus tannins (6.5/10) and medium plus bodied. Tons of dark berries and graphite on the palate mixed in with spices. Long finish. Drink till 2024.

Improved on day two.
Notes of coffee and mocha on the nose.
Not so plump on the palete, but makes up for it with lovely minerality, with a subtle texture, and bright acidity. Ripe raspberries and red cherries complete the show.

Fruit bomb of blue/blackberry, baking spices/vanilla, high booze, excellent finish. Fantastic.

If you're going to go all in for Merlot you might as well go deep. Enormously complex, brushy, sweet/sour cherry and cassis. Huge volume and length. 2008 vintage.

Can't imagine Napa merlot more refined than this. Big up front ... Settles down day 2 and resembles a right bank Bordeaux. Outrageous juice

15%+ alcohol, bottle so thick it could probably stop a small caliber bullet...and it’s elegant, balanced and food friendly. Go figure

Opaque color. Intense nose of black cherries, plums and chocolate. Full and smooth body with completely integrated tannins. Long finish. This is in a good place to drink now. (Drank on 5/29)
