2013 vintage. The second wine of La Chapelle, that is now named " Maison Bleue", but an excellent wine in its own right. At 9 years old this is absolutely gorgeous with an expressive nose of blackberries, wild flowers, pepper and leather, enhanced by a subtle smokiness. In the mouth it combines power with elegance, with pure fruit, subtle spices, silky tannins and great length. Terrific value if the mythical La Chappelle doesn't fit your budget. Abv. 13,5%

Such an inviting nose… mocha, dried leather, milk chocolate shavings, blueberry pie, bacon, and just a little barnyard feel. Masculine. Warm. Fruit is still bright, and touch sappy. Cranberry to blackberry spectrum. Clove and French oak influenced spices are on the palate too. Finishes well… soft, balanced and persistent. Doesn’t get much better on a snowy evening in the mountains. Drink or hold.

Good Hermitage but not outstanding. My bottle was asleep. Good Syrah flavors and elegant, but the flavors were quite muted, as was the nose.
