This one is just too young. Opened up after about 4 hours of air. Needs another day or two of being open. A ton of herbal notes on the nose, pepper, a little floral, a little tobacco. Not a ton of fruit. Palate is peppery with some bright fruit, more herbal, berries. Overall this wine is really good, but I'm sure it needs a few more years in bottle.

Popped and decanted at a restaurant. Dark brooding color. The nose is singing right off the bat with black fruit, menthol and old wood notes. Not as good in the finish as it is in the nose.

Classic brunello. Middle of the road not brilliant - but nice and a good pairing with zucchini pasta and tomato sauce

Peppery with a constant bite. Cherry pops through but it has a smoky weight. Different kind of Brunello.

Wonderful perfume and bouquet of flowers fruit and earth. Lighter than most Brunello, and excellent because of that.

Can't give it a fair rating until it's been open at least an hour. On initial opening is very tight. Dusty, firm tannin, red fruit, cigar box, and really impressive. So initial rating is 96 but anticipate it going up. After a couple of hours, I'm calling it at 98. And has so much life left.

After sensing the powerful bouquet of tobacco and dark berry we opted for decanting. The wine was well balanced with great fruit and a huge finish. Although it opened over the few hours we had it, I think it will benefit from another 5-10 years in the bottle. One of the most powerful brunellos i have tasted!
