I am not a Raley's shopper but stopped by for a few things while at Home Depot and was pleasantly surprised by their import selection. Found this gem along with a Trimbach Pinot Blanc and Thierry and Pascale Matrot Burg Blanc, all for under $20 per bottle! I will be back. This Perrin family wine (partners with Kermit Lynch) is a super good, affordable Cotes du Rhone for everyday drinking.

Good. Lots of animal, saddle, forest floor, dried herbs, baked red fruit. Pronounced aromatic intensity. My expectations might have been overly high here.

Just a delicious wine. One of the best values in the wine world. Drinking well now but could easily improve over the next 5 years. #beaucastel #perrin #cotesdurhone

Medium ruby centre , quite wide garnet rim . Quite ripe mixed red and dark fruits on the nose , roast meat and dried herbs , menthol and medicinal touches as well. On the palate dark plums , black cherry , raspberry, liquorice and those dried herbs . Quite good balancing acidity and rounded tannins , slightly warm on the ok length , dried fruit tinged , finish. Drink now and over the next 5 years

Nice. Some said they taste saddle. I'd say this puts you right in the middle of a farm. I had a glass with my horse Barnabas. Give it at least 20 minutes to air out and you'll have a nice glass of grapes.

The second wine from Ch de Beaucastel. A real find because it has very limited production. (Actually more "barnyard" than normal for a Burgundy.) Purchased at SAQ in Montreal, $30 Canadian, ABV 14%
