May 30th, 2015Sangiovese with some heft. Medium ruby color with garnet highlights. Complex aromas of bramble, cooked plums, ripe berries and vanilla cola. The lush pallet features blackberry jam, black licorice and baking spices. Nice oaky (long and lingering) finish that’s in beautiful harmony. Full bodied but with soft and silky tannins. Well constructed.

Nov 26th, 2022Classic Italian, beautiful old vine sangio, perfumed and full bodied. Full of red and black fruits, it would be impossible not to enjoy this wine. Could use a few more years in the cellar, but it’s great now after a slow decant.

Nov 12th, 2017Such an intense inviting nose and sexy opulent palate. I’ve been on a roll lately with excellent Sangiovese based wines (this is 100%), but this ranks high across the board, and still not close to fully mature. Herbs and spices, leather, ripe rich red fruits, silky tannins, buoyant acidity. Nothing NOT to like here, especially when paired with a pork osso bucco.

Mar 9th, 201717+. 2012. Outperforms most good Brunellios Ina not-great year. Benefited from decanting. Lovely fruit. Must go back tomy2001. This was restaurant, well-priced at CHF80 (otherwise, their excellent list of Brunellos started around 175).
