Cicala Barolo Nebbiolo

Huge power and structure clearly with plenty of great years ahead. Signature tar and roses, crushed sweet red berries, dried mission figs, damp leaves and minerals. Finishes with exceptional length and with firm tannins. 2 hour decant at minimum. From the cellar of Blue Hill at Stone Barns.

Don’t get me wrong, totally gulpable but a little dirty on the nose. Classic chestnut and flowers with red maraschino cherry and tobacco and while aged and in a good point; still a little dirty.

Yes! What a winner. Awesome. So grateful I had two of these and could open this and enjoy it in this setting. And see the evolution from drinking it 4 years ago. In a wonderful place.

Seemed over ripe and lacking in elegance and complexity.

Solid wine. Huge sour cherry finish

2000 - one of the best Barolo I have tasted in a very long time. Outstanding perfumed nose - great intensity, knock out power on an elegantly long and balanced bottle. Would drink more Barolo if they all tasted like this

Tar roses aged balsamic vinegar (slightly sweet syrup), saddle leather and dried mushrooms with dried figs. Stunner. Tannins are melted away with nice dark cherry acidity. 40min decant before first sip.
