Soft but obvious oak married with lite notes of eucalyptus and dark fruit fill the nose while hints of cocoa and berries blended with still strong tanins and acidity entice the palate. A little more new world in style than I typically like but with a little more time the oak should be a little less obvious and the fruit more like "candy". - 2001 vintage
