Following World War II, Alfredo Prunotto and his wife took over and restored an old cooperative winery called "Vini delle Langhe", a new era under the Prunotto name. Rusty red with aromas of dark berry fruit and earthy spices. 100% Nebbiolo of course, flavors of cherry and raspberry emerge, smooth, with subtle spice on well made structure. Fine tannins, balanced acidity on lingering finish ending with earthy mineral notes. I opened the bottle 2 hours before drinking, made a difference, needs more cellaring.

Oct 9th, 2017Light acidity but delicious nose of fig and blackberries. Not terribly heavy but a fantastic lingering flavor that makes this bottle excellent with food or on its own.

Oct 11th, 2017Surprisingly musty and damp cave scents (almost thought it was corked) completely oppose this wine's pallet of deep cherries, dust, leather, tobacco, and spices. Moderate tannins and mouthfeel. Nice acid. Worth a try if you can overcome the musty nose which recedes after a couple hours opening.
