Ramey Wine Cellars
Pedregal Vineyard Cabernet Sauvignon
x
Dark ruby in color with a short brick rim. Not showing age much.
Great nose of blackberries, black currants, cedar, vanilla, licorice, earth, green olives, spices, peppercorn, chocolates, tobacco and graphite.
Medium plus in body with medium acidity and long legs.
Dry on the palate with and fruity with black currants, blackberries, dried figs, smoke, spices, dark coffee, pencil lead, earth, peppercorn, leather and tobacco.
Long finish with fine grained tannins and tangy raspberries.
This is a delicious 15 year old Napa Cabernet from Oakville. Showing great complexity with a great mouthfeel. Elegant and gracious. Soft, yet powerful.
This Single Vineyard has a great nose, especially right out of the bottle.
Peaked a few years ago, and will continue to age very nicely in the next 10 years.
96 points Robert Parker. Thank you Mike for sharing this with me.
Good by itself or with food. Will pair wonderfully with a nice piece of steak. Loved sipping on it all by itself. Delicious.
A blend of 85% Cabernet Sauvignon and 15% Petit Verdot.
14.5% alcohol by volume.
94 points.
$150.

Gets your attention with very big forward fruit. Huge mouthful. 2005 tasted in January 2022. Some complexity has crept in with cedar and a little leather but this is still mostly primary in my book. Fun wine that makes you take a second look. It is very big. Enjoyable with a good steak. Would overpower a lot of things.

Jun 9th, 2019This was nice but missed a bit of fullness. The nose was nice but was a bit hollow and lacked a strong finish.

Jun 24th, 2018Still great , even though the cork looks too clean & no sediment accumulation on the side of the bottle tells me this probably wasn't laying down for most of its life, just a hunch.
