The best producer I had never met before this trip. Wow! This is an extraordinary wine.

Traditional style of dusty, earthiness. Young and rather closed. Opened slightly after a few hours. Great potential and purity of fruit. Some way to go.

Drinking beautifully! If I had a bottle in the library I would do my best to hold it for another year or more and that's modest. So good though, now or later.

Keith's second favorite of the night. Not the 9.9 or the first one.

Sweet red fruits, little fuzzy on the nose, rose and cherry, very good stuff

2021/5/2-3 with youshoku pork sauté and onion soup and Ningbo stewed pork with red fermented tofu. I was excited for this, but this bottle at least left me a bit perplexed. It seemed quite ripe and a little sweet and volatile; later on day 1 it was at its best, as some pretty floral, cherry and sandalwood notes emerged and the acidity showed up to balance things out. Unfortunately, it felt flat and blowsy on day 2. There was also pretty significant browning (even for Nebbiolo), all of which makes me wonder if this was an off bottle. A bummer - I wouldn’t mind trying another to be sure, but at the price it gives me pause.
