Sitting at an Osteria in Alba, Italy and going solo for dinner, this was my half bottle friend for the evening. Surprisingly tasty and fresh for what is an inexpensive Barolo 2011. Bright cherries, rhubarb, even strawberry on the palate with a touch of fennel and a bit of allspice. Finish is short, tannins light, acidity is good. Works great with Vitello Tonnato and other local Piemontesi dishes.
