1 person found it helpfulJul 2nd, 2015Welcome to my review. Today we are drinking a chardonnay by Rombauer. I am used to drinking their cabs but not their chards. The boquet is greatfruit and pears. The initial palate is wonderful. Smooth creamy butter and beautiful crisp green apple finish. I can almost taste the grape in this wine... It does not have that traditional sharp Chard tongue squeezing chard finish. Very mild! Very good cold and served atbthe dock on a sunny hot day. I twist on your regular chardonnay.

Caramelized apple w/ crumble topping, poached pear, sweet Meyer lemon, Creme anglaise, and dare I say a little fresh linen/mineral on the nose? Palate is creamy but with a medley of fruit, buttered, grilled pineapple, Key lime pie, and bruleed sugar. High alcohol always off-putting in these chards as is the RS, but otherwise this is actually pretty tasty and well-made for the style. Cougarin out. I'm sure all my somm friends will judge--oh well!
Addendum: okay started to get more buttery as it warmed up. Heavy on the finish.
