Truncated party notes. Wow. So much character. All sorts of earthy, savory, minerally scents. Campfire, black olive, warm terra cotta, rich dark berry ooze. Great balance and cling.

Despite this being delicious it is just too rich for me. Very deep and intensely concentrated with opulent violet notes plus savory salami. A core of plum, blueberry, earth. Half a glass and I’m already full and buzzed. Mouth coating. Lots of fruit but I don’t imagine this has the acid structure for the long haul.

Light yet earthy. Substantial with almost a wax leather kind of smell and taste to it. Complemented nicely some thick cut pork chops with heavy garlic cream sauce. Delicious.

Road tar, smoked black fruits, green olive, and loads of meaty, gamey notes emerge from the 2016 Northern Blend, which is 95% Syrah and 5% Viognier that was co-fermented and aged in used barrels. This big, sexy, exotic effort just screams Syrah and is full-bodied, has terrific depth of fruit, polished tannins, and just overflowing amounts of character and charm. Drink it any time over the coming decade or so.

This Syrah is deep, rich, and luxurious with a wealth of fruit. Black olives, game, licorice and spice round out the full bodied palate. A solid wine but hard to justify at $60.

On a funk level, this is George Clinton and the P Funk(the king of funk). Dark ripe Rocks fruit. Really young but oh so good.
