Santo Stefano
Rutherford Cabernet Sauvignon
Dark Ruby color with aromas of dark fruit. The palate shows ripe blackberry, plum and black cherry flavors oak and cacao notes. The tannins are very firm but approachable. The finish is about medium, a little vanilla spice peeks out. A tad pricy at $30.

Jan 27th, 2021Really enjoyed this fabulous wine while having dinner on our back porch with our good friends Nathan and Sarah. Went great with grilled salmon.

Jun 26th, 2016Beautiful bouquet on the aroma, more medium/light body. Pie cherries on the palate and notes oak. Almost tastes like liquorice candy

Feb 16th, 2016It's been sitting in the decanter for a day already...first smell is herby on the nose? Its got that distinctive green bell peppery smell, but not so strong that it's offensive, just that it is really forward and I really have to search for that fruity bouquet to find one. Attack is on the sharp side with medium strong tannins bouncing all over your mouth, no real fruit and NO jam atall, just some enjoyable chewiness and herby green pepperyness. Feels like medium body and heavy on the tannins, but not in a bad way. Finish is allllll tannins. This is 2011 year, I feel like in a couple years it'll mellow out to be a real nice table wine?
Summary = tannins, tannins, tannins still chewin' on 'em. Fun tho!
