Jun 18th, 2019A steal of a sparkler. Giving Champagne a run for its money with a $33 price tag and a world of complexity. When blind tasters separately call notes of seaweed and seashells you begin to wonder how California can produce such minerality. Fine, elegant bubbles are met with citrus, sea breeze, and faint brioche. Remarkable.

Aug 20th, 2016One of the best entry level BdB anywhere. With some years of bottle age, this ‘13 shows great.
Clean and expressive on the nose. The ever so slightly oxidative notes is lovely. Vigorous fine mousse. Palate is crisp with a round edge.
Magnum.

Lively, fresh, focused CA bubbles. Great nose of sea spray and an almost smoky crushed chalk mineral character, tart green apple and slight lemon curd, and some subtle leesy hard cheese and brioche action. Pretty congruent with the nose on the palate. Fine, yet lively mousse makes for great texture on the palate. Screaming acid. Angular. Medium (-) body. Dosage seems slightly lower than an average brut. Somewhat reminiscent of good Chablis with bubbles.
