If the Ancient Greek gods were around and drinking wine I bet this would be on their menu every night

100% estate grown and 100% CS varietal - three years in barrel - tobacco, tea and complex yet integrated tannins dusted in smoky clove scents. Intensely peppery, its youthful blackberry and cherry flavors shine through

Inky in color, the wine pops with black and blue fruit, smoke and vanilla aromatics. Fat, rich and fleshy, the wine is packed with it all including the kitchen sink

Decanted for three hours and served filet mignon with an amazing homemade BBQ hollandaise with grilled mushrooms NC sauce to celebrate the Wolfpack victory today - what a way to close out the evening - all full stomachs and world class smiles for all

Great wine for sure and RP hit it right at 💯 - decanted two and half hours and BANG / the lights started flickering - everything went to slow motion yet my Jedi movements were in sync and like a ninja the world was mine for taking - that is the wine speaking - it is that GOOD

4 hour decant. Still slightly angular in its youth but open and voluptuous with air. I'd hold for optimum drinking.

A total hedonistic turn-on, the 2012 has developed beautifully since I tasted it last year. The 2012 is not especially subtle. Instead it bursts from the glass with intense raciness and voluptuousness. Dark red cherry, pomegranate, spice and new leather flesh out on the opulent finish... (Antonio Galloni, Vinous, Oct 2015)

Red berries, graphite, herbal and really, really Big!! Tight tannins, needs another ten years in the cellar.

Shafer hillside select - 2012 - I am using this beautiful beast of a Napa cab to release all stress, toxins and sadness and bring in positive thoughts, emotions and inspirations- Rest In Peace mom - your with your son and my brother now - your strong independence yet caring ways and values will live on through me and your grandsons - this is a RP 100 pointer and a prefect tribute to my mom - my wife and I have appreciated the kind comments of hope and prayers from the gang on Delectable - decanted 2 hours and man did this baby sing loud and in prefect pitch - this is all I love about Napa - just says I am here and don't dare challenge me - if I could afford and not be an offspring of my mother who liked to explore new as well enjoy the old dependable wines I would just drink this wine every time - I know it is young and this baby will only get better as it rests but I wanted to try and just a lush lovely lively beautiful expression of joy in a glass - 😀😀😀😇😇😇
