Tassi Filare 25 Brunello di Montalcino 2019, Tuscany, Italy
Reddish in color with medium intensity.
Nose of raspberries, strawberries, light wood, spices, coffee, dark chocolates, earth and tobacco leaf.
Light to medium in body with medium acidity.
Dry on the palate with cherries, plums, raspberries, spices, dark chocolates, peppercorn, coffee, earth, black tea and light wet leaves.
Long finish with round tannins and tangy cherries.
This is a gorgeous Brunello from a great vintage. Spicy, rich and engaging. Very unique and well balanced with nice complexity.
This Single Vineyard Sangiovese is a gorgeous wine. I am surprised by how much I love it. Probably the best Brunello I've had so far.
Still young, but already enjoyable even by itself. Will pair nicely with food too. Will continue to age nicely in the next 25 years with good potential to become 96+ point wine.
Sangiovese grapes from 50 year old vines were aged for 4 years in large Slavonian oak barrels. A tiny production of only 900 bottles.
14% alcohol by volume.
94 points.
$600.
