Missing a bit of focus and elegance.. Maybe was just the strongest of the night..

Brooding and savory

Still very tight when first opened; needed at least 45 mins in a decanter. Wonderful wine regardless. Power and finesse in equal proportion.

Cork taint

Initially way more closed than the 1988. But after a little bit of time blossomed into a beautiful wine. Fruit was still there, but with more herbs and mint. Nice acidity on the palate with a long finish. This still has some upside.

Very disappointed with this CORKED wine!! Why always the most expensive bottle is coming out with some troubles ?!?!

Garnet color with a slight orange rim. Nose of lead pencil, dried herbs, soil and red cherries, with a hint of green peppers. Medium+ body, complex palate with the same flavors, and long finish. This softened considerably in the glass over the evening. Great wine.

Very broad and balanced. Still quite impenetrable. Lovely and pure. Long.

Dark red, nose of cassis, BlackBerry & raspberry jam, hint of eucalyptus; black fruits, plums and cassis on palate, hint of licorice/iodine in the finish, les fruity now than in youth, drink up.
