Classic impenetrable purple. Gorgeous primary scents of ripest, ooziest blackberries with a dusty earthy note. Tannic, of course, but it's soft enough to be drinkable now. This will keep and soften for many years. Nice with a winter stew.

Dark, dark, tannic wine with black fruit. Wine from the dark side! Get a little whif of band-aid and catch a little on the finish. That seems to be a quality of petit sirah, as I recall some arroyo petit sirah of a few years ago. Never got that from any other varietal
