Another truly superb 2016 Barbaresco. It’s a modern style, but has excellent balance. There’s a very generous core of surprisingly juicy cherry fruit here, but the tannins are ample and muscular. Glorious aromatics. This is a real winner.

Jun 20th, 2021Terrific nose. Floral, tar, roses, mint, tweed jacket, serious cherry, complex, so many different aromas, crazy spice. So good. Licorice. Amazing cherry flower with air. Sick. Palate had an abundance of fruit. Concentrated, sweet and so dense. Pure, clean and so textured. Amazing balance and so well made. Elegant, delicate and so so deep. This is a very good wine with terrific harmony. Shows off why 2016 is as good as it is. Long. Juicy. So so pure.
Update - after 4.5 hours this got that supernal balance very few wines get. 9.4 to 9.5.

As this opens like some licorice flower on the finish. Also the nose. But way more licorice flower than the usual ugo licorice.
As it opens more Arledge at sweet licorice on the nose. Just his maximally delicious. Gods Cherry licorice. So sweet and elegant. Wow.
An hour in hitting God wine. Internal aromatics are sick. Sick sick sick. Just palate blasting with cherry flower licorice flower spices. So elegant. Pure. Jeebus.
Almost a very elegant at version of a very intense wine.
Could be much better than a 9.4 with age.
