Named after a little creek running between the vineyards and the Villa.
60 % Merlot, 30 % Cabernet Sauvignon, 10 % Cabernet Franc from vineyards in Bolgheri and Maremma.
12 months in French and American Oak barriques…30 % new.
Deep, dark ruby red.
Red fruit, leather,toasty and herbal on the nose.
Dark plum, tobacco, bay leaf with finely grained tannins with medium acidity and a fresh finish.
This wine definitely punches above its weight.
It’s the little brother.
The big brother is Sor Ugo.

Huge aromas of blueberry, smoke, liquid minerals and smoke. Very tarry. A bit of heat. Palate is opulent and ripe with good intensity and richness. Acid is a bit low but it’s a good sip. Maybe will grow with air? I will be back. Acid becomes more pronounced with air and it gets more complex. — 5 months ago

This Chianti needs significant time to breathe before consuming. There is no question it is quite good. But it is not worth its higher price.
