Wine Nerd Herd gathering at my home in San Antonio TX was started with a early arrival celebration of Champagnes. We started with this bottle and it showed well. Very reminiscent of Krug Grand Cuvée. Smokey nose, slightly larger bubbles than expected yet robust and clean on the palate. Don’t miss this bottle.

Absolutely a stunner. I preferred it slightly above room temp. Paired with a cornucopia of fresh oyster-Sex on the Bay, Blue Points and Beausoleil. 80% Chardonnay and 20% Pinot Noir disgorged on Jun 2015. Nose of the Krug Grand Cuvée, the oak gives it a sassy side. Slightly creamy texture, lemon curd and honeysuckle fill the mouth. Finish is over 30 sec. A can’t miss Champagne!
