Quite nice as sipper on this cozy Christmas night. Aromas of cocoa dust and cherry pipe tobacco. Powdery tannins that cling to the teeth inn a most delightful way. Rich flavor concentration that is at once plummy, smokey and earthy. A long dry finish evokes the image of a funky lit study furnished with cherry wood desks and tweed jackets. Bold, manly and stout. I would guess this 2009 bottling has about 5-6 years of vivacious life left to it after which it will likely enter its tertiary phase which I fear it may not hold up to.
