Deep dark ruby in color with a short reddish rim.
Fruity nose of cherries, strawberries, blueberries, red currants, earth, cloves, metals, eucalyptus, spices, sage and peppercorn.
Medium plus in body with medium acidity and nice legs.
Dry and fruity on the palate with blackberries, plums, cherries, currants, oak, vanilla, licorice, cloves, earth, leather, green vegetables, bitter herbs, milk chocolate, tar, pencil lead and peppercorn.
Nice length on the finish with firm tannins and black pepper.
A nice California Merlot. Not fully balanced, but drinkable nonetheless. Some bitterness on the mid palate, that I didn't appreciate.
Would benefit from another year in the bottle. Better after an hour of airtime.
13.9% alcohol by volume.
