Yves Cuilleron a Chavanay
Les Vignes d'à Côté Viognier

Juicy Fruit bubblegum and apricots on the nose. Over the top aromatics. Long floral finish. This wine doesn't suggest any sense of place, but it's fun. Drink now.

More oak than the Vins de Vienne, but is closer to a Condrieu

This fleshed-out over the last six months to become as great or better than any Condrieu I've had in a long while.

Jun 17th, 2014Purposely taken with a Jaffurs glass. The salesman at Oxford Wine Co. said this is the closest we'd get to Condrieu in the £17/bottle range. This made me zoom back to Santa Barbara after one sniff. Everything Craig Jaffurs talked about snapped into place like a puzzle. Licorice, chive, pepper, honeysuckle and other white flowers. Some orange marmalade on nose and palate...completely consistent. Med+ bodied, silky smooth...heavenly. Speaking of Heaven, Morgan, this is your dear friend, correct?

Great Viognier, full flavored and aromatic but light as a feather on the palate. Excellent.
