My first experience with a Washington State wine was with a 2015 Cabernet Sauvignon from Northstar Winery🍷
This is a dark ruby colored wine. It delivers aromas of blackberries, blackcurrant, some leather, and mint.
It is a medium to full bodied wine. 14.5% ABV. Rich on the palate with chewy tannins. A blend of 87% Cabernet Sauvignon and 13% Merlot.
Nice first experience! Cheers! — 4 years ago
This is a well aged and a very interesting Pinot Noir from @brittanvineyards 🍷 A 2011 Pinot Noir from Willamette Valley, Oregon. The wine shows aromas of strawberries, plum, cherry and some smoked and vanilla notes.
In the palate you can taste tart red fruit flavors. It is well balanced and it almost has some minerality to it. A recommended bottle!

#thursdaynight pairing a 2012 Pinot Gris from Trimbach with homemade Thai peanut shrimp 🥂🍤 French wine and Asian cuisine!
This aged Pinot Gris has a beautiful amber color. The nose delivers strong aromas of almonds, mango, bananas, dried apricots, and toasty notes. It has a long off-dry finish full of sweet almonds and honeysuckle flavors.
The wine was affected by noble rot (Botrytis) which made it sweater than the 2013 successor.

Craving some bubbles? This Champagne from Launois is a good option at a great price! 🥂🇫🇷
Aromas of bread and pastries blended with a mineral and creamy texture. It is a Blanc de Blancs.

The wine delivers aromas of ripe red fruits like black cherry and raspberries. It has strong notes of vanilla, cinnamon, and other smoked aromas. In the palate you can feel the tart red fruit flavors mixed with vegetal notes of green pepper and other herbal flavors.
It is one of Central Italy's most tannic wines. A ver interesting and recommended bottle! 🍷
About the producer: "Azienda Agraria Scacciadiavoli is an estate in Umbria situated in the wine producing region of Montefalco. It has been owned by the Pambuffetti family since 1954.
The name "Scacciadiavoli" stems from the words "scacciare", meaning to banish, and "diavoli", the Italian word for devils. This unusual name can be traced back to an 18th century exorcism of a woman, whereby she was given red wines as a means of expelling the demon from her body."
Cheers to Italy! 🍷

Saturday with a beautiful 2010 Pagani Ranch Zinfandel from @ridgevineyards in California, USA 🇺🇲 🍷The wine is a blend of 82% Zinfandel, 16% Alicante Bouschet, and 2% Petit Sirah. 14.9% ABV.
Intense aromas of raspberries, blackberries, cherry and some red currant on the nose. It also delivers notes of vanilla, spices and some thyme. It is smooth in the palate with a long finish. Medium-plus tannins and acidity. Still a great bottle! 🍷
From the vineyard's history: "Since 1991, Ridge has made zinfandel from the old Pagani vineyard on the east-facing side of Sonoma Valley. Almost all the vines here were planted more than a hundred years ago." Cheers! 🍷

Cheers to more blue skies in northern California! 💙 The 2017 Syrah, Grenache, Mataro from Ridge Vineyards is a lovely new world GSM blend 🍷
62% Syrah
27% Grenache
11% Mataro (Mouvedre)
This Syrah dominated wine exhibits aromas of red currant, raspberries, plums, thyme, cedar, oak, and some pepper. On the palate, you'll get a fruit driven viscous sensation probably as a result of the malolactic fermentation. The seemingly sweet tobacco flavors linger on the palate with a slightly bitter aftertaste.
14.2% ABV. Medium-plus body.
This Southern Rhone style wine did great on a Thursday night! 🍷
Cheers!

The palate confirms the nose with mineral and citrusy aromas of limes, pears and green apples. Well-balanced acidity. 12.8% ABV. A very refreshing chardonnay from the Eola-Amity Hills in Willamette Valley, Oregon, USA.
The pioneers used the name Eola as a reference to the aeolian harp. A wind instrument named after Aeolus, the Greek god of the wind. The gap in this area of the Willamette Valley ushers in howling winds from the Pacific Ocean which are then trapped in the Coastal Range. Cheers!

Homemade sushi with a 2018 rare white blend from Cantina Terlano-Kellerei 🥂🍣🇮🇹
A medium golden color fills the glass as I pour this wine from Alto Adige, Italy. The tropical fruit aromas of pears and peaches on the nose are blended with honey, citrus, and mineral notes. Light to medium body with a long finish.
It is a refreshing wine with well balanced acidity. We paired it with our homemade tuna and salmon rolls. A delicious pairing for a Saturday night!
All wines from Cantina Terlano are produced under DOC quality (Controlled Designation of Origin). In the Alto Adige Terlano area in particular, the DOC classification can only be used for white wines that contain a minimum of 50% Pinot Blanc and/or Chardonnay. This bottle is 60% Pinot Bianco, 30% Chardonnay, and 10% Sauvignon Blanc.
Cheers! 🇮🇹🥂
