5/22/15. Not too much on the nose. Pale in color. Nice palate, balances some acid and minerality with
tasty butteriness. Like a nice Meursault. Still a bit tight.

Dark. Pretty subtle nose. Some bramble and spice. Big palate that really lingers. Great stuffing.
Dark big fruit with bite. Drinking great but I did decant two hours. Probably even better with another year as still a little tannic. Some heat still evident. Great effort from tiny producer.

Bordeaux wine dinner; 6/18/15: Pichon Lalande 1990 - Lighter color than others, I think passing its prime. A little dry on the finish but perfectly nice still. Gruaud Larose 1989 - Very classic nose and palate of cedar and pine notes. Most silky palate of the bunch. Two at the table thought it was wine of the night. Not as much to my taste but very much classic Gruaud. Cos 1986 - Funky barnyard nose. Deep palate with still strong tannin, but plenty of fruit coming through. Liked it but there was some brett there that to me, hurt. Lynch Bages 1985 - For me, the wine of the night, largely due to the truly stunning nose. A tad dry on the palate but still long finish of dark fruit. — 9 years ago
Very light in color for a cab. Nose a little musty initially but brought camphor, red fruit and maybe a little iodine. Palate brings cranberry and dark, tart cherry. Long finish. Love this style, low alcohol (12.5%!), acid, food-friendly. Has a lot of life but drink up. — 9 years ago
Light pale color. Subtle nose but almost some hint of lemon and cream. Has come together
beautifully on palate. Some creamy buttery notes yet there's beatiful summer fruit and light minerality. Light yet lingers. So happy as last bottle (same case) was becoming oxidized! (Buyer beware, so was the next/third bottle...)

Wow wine. Very dark, somewhat tight nose that has some plum to it. But what a bomb on the palate! Dark fruits dominate with a deep dark finish of earth, toasted oak and a tar quality that is unique, and terrific. Coats the palate and lingers. Really terrific. I think just entering drinking window, with 20 years ahead. — 9 years ago
Cool nose, has summer fruit, with something tart and sour. For me it was there on the palate - a little grapefruit. Nice stuff, lingers forever. But dare I say it, miss a little of the old Kistler oak? (At least a little??) — 9 years ago
5/15/15. Nose like macerated dark fruit, blackberries, black cherry, plums. Grenache-y dark cherry astringency comes through but some Syrah fills it out. Some heat on the finish but better integrated than I remember from an earlier tasting. A little more modern than I like in a CDP but very tasty. Even better after a couple of hours in glass!

2002 Cassis, black cherry and some smoke on the nose. Nice dark berry finish with some tart bite. Possibly a little bit of barnyard. Maybe still a bit tight too. But quite nice. 2017+? — 9 years ago

Very light in color, tasty long finish with spicy dark cherry. Give it a year to calm a bit. — 9 years ago
