Really a wonderful St J and a crazy value as a 2nd wine. Lovely pairing with roast rack of lamb with garlic / rosemary / mustard. In a good window but could take more time honestly. Wonderful acid, quite deep fruit, long finish, tannins still very there, delicious. — 7 months ago
Brief notes. We had this last Sunday with Lamb Shanks. This is the 2nd wine of prominent Saint Emilion producer, Chateau Angelus. A lovely right bank nose showing Merlot dominance. Also blackcurrant, red and black fruits. Harmonious seamless tannins. A good, if not great wine. — a month ago
Not particularly noteworthy but good I’ve it has had a chance to breathe. Dark berry etc. — 5 months ago
Very nice Shiraz — 3 years ago
Outstanding showing for a 2nd wine in a classic vintage. Red fruit and red flowers, cedar and cigar notes led a pure and concentrated beam of blueberry and multiple red fruit notes with some vanilla and black currant. Feminine, elegant. Fine tannins disappeared on long finish. — 4 years ago
2nd Ribcap wine. Delicious!
2006 followed the grand 2005 vintage. It was overpriced based on 2005 & critically reviewed as a difficult vintage. I can tell you 06 was overpriced, but still a good to very good vintage depending on the region & producer.
The fruits are classic Bordeaux…nicely ripe; blackberries, black raspberries, very dark cherries, black plum, plum, mix of strawberries & red cherries. Wet, volcanic clay, lead pencil for days, slightly, dry tobacco, dark spices, mix of mostly dry & fresh herbs, clove, nutmeg, some cinnamon & vanillin, volcanic ash, used leather, sandalwood to cedar, forest floor w/ dry leaves, dry river stone, steeped, dark fruit tea, withering, slightly candied; dark, red florals with hints of violets, round, fresh, river stream acidy, a plush, round, elegant, nicely; tensioned, structured, balanced and elegant polished finish that last 90 seconds. — 4 months ago
See previous notes on 2 tasting occasions. Coincidentally all at Paros on the Beach Apartments - all 3 tastings. One of my favourite 2nd wines in Australia. Often associated with white pepper, this exhibits more plum and spice. A very good wine and great QPR. — 3 years ago

Refer to previous Delectable note. Drank this last Sunday. I made notes and lost them with the Spanish Tempranillo notes. Very solid with a long life in front of it. The 2nd of 6 bottles. — a month ago
