Adelaida Vineyard Grenache Blanc Blend 2024

Ridge – Grenache Blanc 2024
Paso Robles – California, USA 🇺🇸
Blend: 85% Grenache Blanc, 12% Picpoul, 3% Roussanne
Vineyard Sources: 47% Fossil Creek, 39% Adelaida, 14% Halter Ranch

Overview
This compelling white is fully Rhône-inspired, sourced from three top vineyards in Paso Robles. Whole-cluster pressed and aged eight months in neutral oak barrels, it reflects Ridge’s philosophy of estate-level precision and minimal intervention. (Educational note: Grenache Blanc is a Rhône variety that thrives in California’s Central Coast, often blended with Picpoul and Roussanne for acidity and texture.)

Aromas & Flavors
Citrus blossom, green apple, and stone fruit upfront, layered with subtle mineral tones and white flowers. A touch of tropical fruit and a saline edge lift the profile.

Mouthfeel
Medium-bodied, crisp, and multi-layered. Firm acidity and subtle oak integration give freshness and structure. The wine balances vibrancy with texture, making it both approachable now and ageworthy for 5+ years.

Food Pairings
Excellent with grilled fish, shellfish, and Mediterranean cuisine. Also versatile with roasted chicken, vegetable-based pasta, or goat cheese.

Verdict
One of Ridge’s most interesting whites — Rhône-inspired yet distinctly Californian. The 2024 Grenache Blanc is layered, vibrant, and expressive, showing Paso Robles’ potential for serious whites. 🍷

Did You Know?
Ridge first produced Grenache Blanc in 2018, inspired by Rhône varieties thriving in Paso Robles’ limestone soils. By blending with Picpoul and Roussanne, they achieve balance of fruit, acidity, and texture.

Hidden Gem 💎
Though Ridge is world-renowned for Monte Bello and iconic reds, this Grenache Blanc proves they can craft whites with equal brilliance — a rare and exciting side of their portfolio.

Adelaida District Tannat 2019

Lovely color. Deeper red/purple. Fun to smell. Smells like bag of licorice. Nice euro licorice. Bar-b-que. Balanced and tasty. Has a lot going on, but stays in the pocket. This is intriguing stuff. — 4 months ago

Adelaida District - Paso Robles Grenache 2020

This was some great Grenache! In fact, this, to me, is just how a single-varietal bottling of this grape should taste. In spite of the moderate bottle age, there was a lot of freshness in it, and some great red fruit flavors as well. Very well done! 100% Grenache. 5/12/25. — 5 months ago

Esprit de Tablas Adelaida District Mourvedre Blend 2022

The V.2022 Esprit de Tablas is the flagship red blend of 40% Mourvèdre, 28% Grenache, 22% Syrah, 4% Vaccarèse, 3% Cinsaut and 3% Counoise selected from the top 6-estate-grown varieties propagated from budwood cuttings from the Château de Beaucastel Estate in Rhône, France.

An absolute crowd-pleaser in all aspects; the nose welcomes aromatic dark red fruits, black forrest, earthy and spices. As for the palate, it is rich and bold, yet fruit-forward slightly juicy with a hint of licorice, minty and lushy. Great acidity and structure with progressive tannins towards the back-end. Loved the texture and some sweet spices by the very end.
